With the coming cold weather, this is a definite must for me as I have a very low threshold for the cold! This is really nicely packaged. I would recommend when removing this to let it air out a bit, wash it, then let it air out for a bit before using it. It is not entirely air sealed and I would recommend just running it through the wash! You do not have to remove any piece that is inside the blanket (it also would be impossible). You just need to make sure to remove the controller and the power cable. There will be a port piece still left in the blanket. You cannot remove this but it will be okay in the wash just make sure the port is dry before plugging it back in. The rest should be fine to run through the wash according to instructions. I washed it right out of the box with cold water. I normally do not like to run this material through the dryer as it makes the material feel not as soft and lint accumulates on it. For the best result, I prefer to just air dry this. That being said, the material is pretty soft before and after the wash. It has a nice smooth feeling that does not irritate my skin or anything. It does not have any retaining marks or anything. I am very happy with that. It also did not fade in color from what I can tell. One small thing to note is that with the heating component the blanket will feel a little heavier than your usual blanket (not close to being a weighted blanket). It actually prefer the heaviness but some people may not. The beige color looks great and fits my wall color and decorum at home. The bag it comes in makes it great for storing on the off season. It is pretty durable bag so I just fold it up and put it back into this bag. Again it is a bit on the heavy side but it looks nice where I can just put this on top and lay it out when making my bed. There are several heating modes and it does not get hot to the point of hurting anyone. It does not damage the material either. The controls are pretty simple and give you enough slack to keep the sides down when pulling the control box towards you. The control is pretty well built. It is not a touch pad or anything and you need to press down on the button to change it. You can increase the temperature or set a timer. It will automatically turn off after two hours for safety. The plug is on the side closer to your feet so you do not have to worry about getting tangled in the power cord. There is also a good length to the power cable so you do not have to worry about it not reaching the blanket. There are also safety put into the blanket so it will shut off every hour to keep from over heating, damaging the material, and hurting you. After using this for the first few nights, it really helps my work out. I really helps my joints and also my leg circulation so I do not feel pain from standing all day long. It also does not stick to my skin even if I sweat a little bit which is nice. Overall this is a good blanket to have. It feels soft, has really good heating, does not get tangled, and it keeps me warm at night so I am able to fall asleep easier. No more waking up in the middle of the night to a cold blanket and bed. I actually preheat a little bit before bed so I can have a really cozy and toasty bed. I would recommend starting low and increase the temperature to your comfort. I normally do not like starting high and decreasing temperature since it takes time to lower the temperature. It also feels uncomfortable during that time.
